From the Prez

Hello fellow Bluffs Dwellers.

It is with great pride and a bit of apprehension that I assume the office of Presidency of The Bluffs Home Owners Association.

I know that I have a great tradition to follow. Barbara Schwartz was our first President, and she served in that capacity for quite a few years (I think it was somewhere between 10 and 15).

Barbara, first and foremost, I would like to personally thank you for the years of service that you have given to our community. I know that you have spent many thankless hours on the job and I only hope that I can be half as good at this job as you were.

Barbara has not completely left the HOA Board. She has agreed to serve on the board for one more year (more if I can convince her). I guarantee that I will be looking to her for advice on several occasions.

Moving forward, there will be some (but just a few) changes in the way that we work together.

While I believe that we have elected another outstanding board, we will all need to work together to bring our community even closer and solve the issues that we must face in the future.

Personally, I would like to see more interaction between the board and each of the homeowners. At the same time, I would like to see more volunteerism from in the community in the coming year.

I hope to stop by and personally visit everyone in the association (I’m so glad there are only 43 other houses) in the next year. I will also be asking each member of the board to visit with one of their neighbors (preferably one that they don’t know) each month to get input and ideas on how we can best move forward.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me any time. My cell phone number is 303-489-3732, and my e-mail address is gsyardley@theBluffsHoa.com. I also welcome any suggestions that you might have as to how we can make this a better community for all of us.

One topic that I know is on everyone’s minds is the future fence needs. It looks like we will need another 60 to 70 thousand dollars to be able to install and maintain a new fence. I would like very much for us to find ways to raise money without having to raise our dues or assess the homeowners. Please try to think outside of the box and see what ideas we can come up with.

I look forward to meeting with all of you and discussing how we can move forward together.

A wise man once told me, “If we all don’t row, the boat won’t go.”
